On November 8th, children’s book author Jennifer Ward visited Theodore Roosevelt. She has written over 35 books, including the new versions of There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly. She started the day by visiting with first and second grade students. She talked about what it is like to be an author and the importance of always working hard to become a better reader and writer. She then met with pre-k and kindergarten students where she talked about her life in Arizona and her love of animals! At the end of her presentation, she read one of her popular books to the students. Finally, Jennifer came back during the evening to participate in our first annual Literacy Night. During this event, she read another story to the students and helped to run a station all about her books!
